Biography

Mohammad Alloush is a Syrian politician and senior official of Jaish al-Islam, the rebel faction founded by his late brother Zahran Alloush. He served as the chief negotiator for the armed opposition at the 2016 Geneva and Astana peace talks, representing the High Negotiations Committee. His dual role — as both a representative of an armed group and a diplomatic negotiator — reflected the complex makeup of Syria's opposition.
